Financial Information for 2009 and six months of 2010

Azelis achieved Total Sales of EUR 993 Mio in 2009. Total Sales include agency business amounting to EUR 156 Mio. Azelis successfully countered the highly detrimental business climate in 2009 with rigid management action to absorb the drop of sales by 12% compared to 2008. Operating results were stable in 2009. The diversified business portfolio with a strong Life Science business in addition to Industrial Chemicals helped to improve margins.

 

During the first half of 2010, Azelis accomplished a strong up-swing in the sale of its products. Total Sales in H1 2010 were EUR 582 Mio (up 13%) and above the respective stronger first half of 2009 in all businesses. The growth in total volume distributed by the group until June 2010 amounted to 41% compared to January - June 2009. The significant volume growth is primarily driven by strong Base Chemicals business which reflects a corresponding shift in product mix.
